Start with the site and the purpose
A retaining wall project should start with a clear understanding of what the wall needs to do. You may want to replace an old timber wall, create a garden level or make part of the backyard easier to use. Tell us about the current conditions and the outcome you want.
Approximate wall length and height are useful, but photos of the surrounding yard matter too. Nearby fences, structures, trees and access paths can affect the work. We discuss the site before agreeing the materials and scope.
Replacing an existing retaining wall
If there is an old wall to remove, include photos showing its condition and the area behind it. Removal, disposal and treatment of the surrounding soil need to be considered in the quote. Let us know whether the existing fence or garden also needs to be retained, replaced or reinstated.
Drainage and ground conditions
Drainage, ground conditions and the finished levels are part of the project discussion. We will clarify what the proposed work includes and identify where further assessment or information is needed. Any engineering or approval requirements must be confirmed for the specific site before work is agreed.

What measurements should I send?
